"Twirling Helix" Fine Art Prints

What’s included:

Media: I print your selection with archival pigment inks on heavyweight fine art paper (100% cotton rag) for vibrant, long-lasting color. The artwork is dated, signed, and assembled with a white, acid-free mat and backing board. Please tell your framer to use conservation-quality materials.

Size: The artwork measures about 4 x 6 inches and is secured on a backing board behind the mat window. The white mat measures 8 x 10 inches and fits in a standard 8 x 10 frame. (Frame not included).

Shipping:

Shipping is a flat fee of $15.00. The art is matted by the artist after the purchase is made and shipped directly from her.

About the art and science:

The “Twirling Helix” artwork begins with pencil on paper to shape the composition; then, portions are painted and digitized. Using digital tools, I add layers of translucent colors to capture the double helix’s flowing shape and dynamic quality.

DNA in the nucleus is packaged into chromosomes that twist and bend to bring parts close together to activate genes. The “Double Helix” fine art series is my impression of this dynamic, plastic-like ability. It’s how the magnificent genome works!
